This guy did plenty of bad things. He was involved in a large multicultural scam. He faced the court and in 2001 was accused of minor offenses like obstruction to the police and perjury. Later he was imprisoned for scamming but he didn’t serve the whole time in prison because he agreed to tell the FBI about various criminal businesses of his accomplices.
So he obtained his freedom again on March 2006 only to be rearrested the same day for a different crime!
There was also a bank fraud case where Adrian Chike Okakpu and Okwudili Umenyiora confessed to stealing checks and changing the payee lines. They also recruited some guys in the Mobile area to cash the checks.
However, their Attorney Michel Nicrosi convinced the Senior U.S. District Judge Charles Butler Jr. to give them shorter prison sentences since the criminals cooperated with investigators. The judge is even said to leave the courtroom for that talk with Michel.
Now Okwudili Umenyiora is a respected businessman and CEO of the Chairman Dilly Motors. His criminal youth taught him a lot, primarily the fact that fortune can change any moment.
