The concept of this electrical car was presented on February 9, 2012 in Los Angeles. Manufacturing was planned on the end of 2013, but it was postponed several times.
And finally Super crossover Model X by Tesla is born. In some parameters the novelty yields to new Model S sedan, but in general it is a lot better than its predecessors are!
The market of “green” cars is not at its best times now. Due to the drop of prices in oil industry, the fuel in the United States has become twice cheaper – that makes cars with internal combustion engines more attractive.
The leaders of the class suffer the most — the demand for Leaf by Nissan and Volt by Chevrolet reduced by nearly a half. But Tesla Motors rules!

The new Model X is available in two versions:
- P90D top version with acceleration from 0 to 100 in just 3.2 seconds — the same numbers shows the Model S P85D sedan;
- less productive 90D accelerates to 100 for 4.8 seconds, which is faster than most cars on the market in the same class.
Tesla Model X can boast of record-low center of gravity that eliminates the risk of rolling, which is the scourge of modern sport utility vehicles and SUVs. This was achieved by placing the battery on the bottom of the car.

Model X is actually created on the same base as Model S sedan. And this in turn means, that the 90 kW/h battery is located inside the bottom of automobile, while the front and rear axles have electric motors that makes Model X all-wheel-drive vehicle.
According to Tesla, if you’re not going into long trips around the country, the power reserve will not be a problem. Power-reserve of the Model X 90D version is 414 kilometers, but a more powerful version (90D Performance) can offer power reserve only 402 kilometers, after that you`ll have to recharge the battery of the car. However, even this is enough for daily trips around the city, as well as to go to work and back.

Design & Comfort
Model X is not just an expensive family car. Some of its elements can be found only in supercars.
Rear doors open like the doors of Mercedes-Benz 300 SL and its ideological successor Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Door construction (Falcon Wings) has practical side — when you open them, they occupy minimum space on the sides of the car. Despite the fact that they look quite massive, it is quite easy to get in the car, even if there is limited space around it. The doors are equipped with ultrasonic sensors and a few hinges, which save them from grazing adjacent objects (for easy parking), and allow to use them even in low ceiling garages.
The fact that Model X is a crossover, tells us that it will have to transport not only passengers, but also car seats, bicycles, strollers and so on. Due to an external attachment, you can transport bicycles, skis, boards for snowboarding, without taking up the interior space. If you prefer, you can even transport a house on wheels weighing up to 2268 kg.
What about the interior of a car? Go to the next page & find it out!
The Interior of the Model X will seem familiar to anyone who is acquainted with the Interior of the sedan Model S salon. Electronic control, a huge LCD screen, onboard computer, climate control, leather seats, fog lights – all as it should be.
HEPA cabin filter system deserves a special mention: in emergency mode Bioweapon Defense Mode will make the air in the cabin as pure as in the hospital ward.
Model X has practically no rivals on the market. Audi, for example, plans to produce an electric crossover R8 e-tron only in 2018, so Model X will have to fight for the buyers with hybrids, such as the Volvo XC90 T8 and Audi Q7 e-tron, for example.
First, “basic” P90D Signature will be offered for $ 132000. The second P90D Founder – for $ 142000. However, the standard 90D model and “unspecial” P90D versions will cost much less, when they`ll become available.
